» The Design and Build

In 2011 the curtain will rise on a spectacular New Marlowe Theatre and an exciting new era for lovers of theatre and the arts in the South East will begin. Built on the existing but extended site in the heart of Canterbury, the New Marlowe Theatre will give Kent a world-class theatre, bringing audiences state-of-the-art facilities housed in a stunning contemporary riverside building.

This larger theatre will bring you a programme of bigger and better shows including the major musicals, the best plays, international quality opera, ballet, and classical music as well as bands and rock concerts. In an exciting new departure, the expanded theatre will also be home to a second auditorium allowing us to originate our own productions and support the development of new talent across the region, as well as providing a first class venue for community events and productions.
